2010 is the 75th anniversary of the beginning of the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway. This incredible road that begins in Shenandoah ,VA, meanders down through the Blue Ridge Mountains and ends in Bryson City, NC was began in September 1935. With it's incredible vistas and small mountain communities such as our own Floyd, VA, the Blue Ridge Parkway is a national treasure! Where else can you find breathtaking views, local wineries, mountain cuisine, bluegrass music and Americana at its best?
Throughout the year, festivities are planned to commemorate this special occasion. Since the Mountain Rose Inn, a Blue Ridge Parkway lodging facility, is located just 6 miles from the one of the entrances, we will also celebrate this year with specials and all-inclusive packages that feature this incredible route. Currently, you can book a Culinary Delights and VA Wines Vacation Package or add a Blue Ridge Wine Trail Tour to your reservation. Just check our site to see our latest packages and specials and to check availability.
So plan a trip along the Parkway this year as a part of your vacation or for a great weekend getaway. You won’t be disappointed.
Happy Travels to You!
